한중도시우호협회(회장 권기식)는 19일 전갑길 국기원 이사장을 고문으로 위촉했다. 권기식 회장은 이날 오후 서울 강남구 역삼동 소재 국기원을 방문해 전 이사장에게 고문 위촉장을 전달했다. 권 회장은 "세계 태권도의 총본부 역할을 하는 국기원의 수장인 전갑길 이사장이 태권도를 포함한 한중 스포츠 교류에서 많은 협력을 해줄 것으로 기대한다"고 말했다.
전 이사장은 광주 광산구청장과 16대 국회의원을 역임했으며, 지난 2020년 3월 국기원 이사장에 취임했다. 한중도시우호협회에는 이수성 전 국무총리와 정성호 국회 예결위원장 등 각계 지도급 인사 15명이 고문으로 활동하고 있다.

The Korea-China Friendship Association (Chairman Kwon Ki-sik) commissioned Kukkiwon Chairman Jeon Gap-gil as advisor on the 19th. Chairman Kwon Ki-sik visited Kukkiwon in Yeoksam-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul this afternoon and delivered a letter of advisory appointment to the former chairman. Chairman Kwon said, "We expect that Chairman Jeon Gap-gil, the head of Kukkiwon, who plays the role of the headquarters of Taekwondo in the world, will cooperate in sports exchanges between Korea and China, including Taekwondo."
The former chairman served as the Gwangsan-gu office in Gwangju and the 16th member of the National Assembly, and was inaugurated as the chairman of Kukkiwon in March 2020. At the Korea-China Friendship Association, 15 leaders from various fields, including former Prime Minister Lee Soo-sung and Chung Seong-ho, chairman of the National Assembly Preliminary Committee, are acting as advisors.
