농경사회를 살았던 우리 조상들은 24절기를 매우 중요시 했다.
음력으로는 3월 중순, 양력으로 4월 20일 무렵은 24절기 중 여섯 번째이며 봄의 마지막 절기인 곡우(穀雨)이다. 곡우는 ‘곡식을 깨우는 비’라는 의미이다. 곡우에 날씨가 고르고 적당히 내리는 비는 한해 곡식이 잘 들게 한다고 믿었으며 한해의 풍년을 기원했다고 한다.
곡우(穀雨)는 한해 농사의 시작을 알리는 절기이다. 벼농사에서 가장 중요한 볍씨를 물에 담그고 실하지 않은 볍씨는 걸러내어 못자리를 준비한다. 우리 조상들은 이 과정을 매우 중요시하여 초상집에 다녀오거나 부정한 일을 당하거나 본 사람은 볍씨를 보지 못하게 했다. 물론 미신이지만 얼마나 볍씨를 소중히 여겼는지 알 수 있는 대목이다.
탈모치료에 있어 모발의 성장과 자주 비유되는 것이 벼농사이다. 모발이 모낭에서 생성되어 두피 밖으로 길게 자라는 과정이 마치 건강한 볍씨를 싹을 틔우고 자라서 가을에 풍성한 쌀을 수확하는 과정과 유사하기 때문이다.
볍씨는 모발의 모유두(Dermal Papilla)에 비유할 수 있다.
모근의 가장 하단부에 위치한 모유두는 두피 모세혈관으로부터 영양분과 산소를 공급받는다. 모유두는 모발성장 과정에서 매우 핵심적인 역할을 한다. 모발이 만들어지는 과정은 다음과 같다.
모유두는 모낭의 벌지(Bulge) 구역의 줄기세포에 영양분을 공급함은 물론 명령과 신호를 전달한다. 벌지구역의 줄기세포는 모모세포로 분화되어 모유두를 둘러싼다. 이후 모모세포는 모유두로부터 영양분과 산소를 공급받으며 세포분열을 통해 모발의 주요 구성성분인 케라틴 단백질을 생성하여 새로운 모발이 만들어진다. 따라서 모유두가 손상되거나 기능이 저하된 경우 모발을 정상적으로 성장시킬 수 없다.
이렇게 만들어진 싹과 같은 작은 모발은 길게 성장하면서 두피 밖으로 나와 비로소 육안으로 확인이 가능한 모발이 된다. 모발은 5년 정도의 성장기 동안 한달에 약1cm 정도씩 계속 자란다. 성장기가 다하면 더 이상 모발이 성장하지 않는 3주 가량의 퇴행기를 거쳐 3개월 정도의 휴지기에 들어간다. 휴지기는 모발이 빠지는 시기임과 동시에 새로운 모발이 만들어지는 성장기를 준비하는 단계이기도 한다.
모발은 평생 약 20회 정도의 위와 같은 주기를 반복하며 자라고 빠진다. 탈모는 모발의 성장기를 단축시켜 모발주기를 빠르게 만든다. 모발주기가 다한 곳에서는 치료를 해도 더 이상 새로운 모발이 자라지 않는다.
따라서 탈모는 진행 초기에 정확한 진단과 원인분석을 통해 적합한 치료를 받아야 모발을 다시 성장시킬 수 있다. ygb88kr@naver.com

Our ancestors who lived in an agricultural society valued the 24 seasons very much.
Around mid-March in the lunar calendar and around April 20 in the solar calendar, it is the sixth out of 24 seasons, and the last season of spring is Gokwoo. Gokwoo means'the rain that wakes up the grain'. It is believed that even the weather and moderate rain on the grain rains will make the grain grow well throughout the year, and it is said to wish for a good harvest in the year.
Gokwoo (穀雨) is the season that marks the beginning of farming throughout the year. The most important rice seed in rice cultivation is immersed in water, and the rice seed that is not good is filtered out to prepare a pond. Our ancestors valued this process so that those who visited the portrait shop, or who had been subjected to or seen unclean things, did not see the rice seed. Of course, it's a superstition, but it's a passage that shows how much rice seeds were cherished.
Rice farming is often compared to hair growth in hair loss treatment. This is because the process of generating hair from the hair follicles and growing them long outside the scalp is similar to the process of sprouting and growing healthy rice seeds to harvest abundant rice in autumn.
The rice seed can be compared to the hair's dermal papilla.
The dermal nipple, located at the bottom of the hair root, receives nutrients and oxygen from the capillaries of the scalp. Breast milk plays a very important role in the process of hair growth. The process of hair formation is as follows.
The dermal papilla not only supplies nutrients to the stem cells in the bulge area of the hair follicle, but also transmits commands and signals. Stem cells in the bulge zone differentiate into hair cells and surround the hair papilla. Afterwards, the hair cells are supplied with nutrients and oxygen from the dermal nipples, and through cell division, new hair is produced by producing keratin proteins, which are the major components of the hair. Therefore, hair cannot be grown normally if the teat is damaged or its function is deteriorated.
Small hairs such as buds made in this way grow long and come out of the scalp to become hair that can be checked with the naked eye. Hair continues to grow about 1cm per month during the growth period of about 5 years. When the growth period is over, it goes through a three-week regression period when the hair does not grow anymore, and then enters a three-month resting period. The resting period is the period when the hair falls out, and at the same time, it is also the stage in which new hair is prepared for the growth period.
Hair grows and falls out by repeating the above cycle about 20 times in a lifetime. Hair loss shortens the growth period of the hair and speeds up the hair cycle. Where the hair cycle has ended, new hair will no longer grow after treatment.
Therefore, hair loss can be regrown only after receiving appropriate treatment through accurate diagnosis and cause analysis in the early stages of progression. ygb88kr@naver.com
