-Reporter Moon Hong-cheol

Eight out of ten workers are currently willing to change jobs. In particular, it was found that half of them are currently actively preparing for a job change in the second half of the year.

According to Job Korea on the 20th, when 485 male and female office workers were asked if they had plans to change jobs within the second half of this year, 45.8% answered that they are “actively preparing for a job change in the second half of the year.”

Next, 44.5% answered, 'I am willing to change my job at any time, although not immediately, if a good opportunity comes along', and only 9.7% answered 'I have no intention of moving'.

For those who are currently actively preparing to change jobs, 'dissatisfaction with their salaries' accounted for the biggest reason with a response rate of 43.7% as the decisive reason for their decision to change jobs.

Employees in their 20s said they wanted to change jobs because they did not feel the fun and reward of work with 28.6%, second highest after dissatisfaction with salary. In their 30s, the opinion that the current company does not seem to have any further development potential and that they plan to change jobs because the work-life balance is not guaranteed were the same at 24.7%. Employees in their 40s and older cited the fact that work-life balance was not guaranteed (29.3%) as the second reason they decided to change jobs.

In addition, office workers said that their current job was because the work intensity was too high (21.2%), because there was no opportunity for a promotion (12.6%), because they wanted to try something else (11.7%), and because they had conflicts with people they worked with, such as bosses or co-workers. (9.5%) said that they decided to change jobs because of other reasons.

In the process of preparing for a job change, it was found that the item that office workers find difficult in common is 'updating self-introduction letter'.

All age groups (47.6% in their 20s, 46.4% in their 30s, and 41.5% in their 40s) answered that writing or updating a new self-introduction was the most difficult.

Those in their twenties answered that it was difficult to interview with a working-level staff (35.7%), those in their thirties wrote a career description (37.1%), and those in their 40s or older had difficulty negotiating treatment such as salary (39.0%).

The average salary increase desired by office workers when they change jobs was calculated to be 5.09 million won. If we break down the desired salary increase by age, those in their 20s are 4.64 million won, those in their 30s are 5.31 million won, and those in their 40s are 5.45 million won. The higher the age, the higher the desired salary increase.

On the other hand, it was found that there are conditions that make people hesitate to change jobs, no matter how good they are.

Office workers answered that they would not change jobs even if the conditions were good if the commute distance became too far (53.0%). Next, △If the salary is lower than now (42.7%) △If the work-life balance is not maintained (37.7%) △If the company culture does not fit with me (21.2%) △If there is a notorious person in the industry among the bosses to work with (17.4%) △ If the company does not conduct Jeong-Do management such as gender discrimination and subcontracting (15.1%), etc.
