희망브리지 전국재해구호협회(회장 송필호)는 공기압 자동화 전문 기업 한국SMC가 수해 의연금 1천만원을 기부했다고 10일 밝혔다.
한국SMC는 지난달 말 12호 태풍 오마이스가 동반한 강한 비바람으로 경북 포항시를 비롯한 남부 지방에서 피해가 발생하자 수해 의연금을 마련해 희망브리지에 전했다.
한국SMC 관계자는 “신종 코로나바이러스 감염증(코로나19)으로 모두가 심적‧물적으로 어려운 가운데 예기치 못한 집중호우로 피해가 발생해 매우 안타깝다”며 “우리의 작은 정성으로 수재민들이 하루빨리 일상으로 돌아갈 수 있기를 기대한다”고 말했다.
희망브리지는 정부 피해조사가 끝나는 대로 재해구호법에 따라 부상, 주택 파손‧침수, 주생계수단 피해 등에 대한 위로금을 지급할 계획이다.
한편 한국SMC는 지난해에도 코로나19 극복 성금 5천만원과 수해 의연금 2천만원을 희망브리지에 맡긴 바 있다.
