영진전문대학교가 네트워크보안반의 내년 졸업예정 학생 31명 중 24명이 조기 취업했다는 소식을 전했다.

코로나19로 인한 비대면 문화가 확산됨에 따라 비대면 온택트 분위기로 IT인력 수요가 폭발적으로 늘어나면서 네트워크보안반은 취업 시장에서 상한가를 누리고 있다.
코로나로 비대면 수업이 많았던 지난해에 자격증 취득에 집중한 것도 취업 경쟁력을 높이는데 한몫을 한 것으로 보인다.
컴퓨터공학계열 고정호 교수는 “네트워크 보안 분야 취업을 하려면 실력을 검증받을 방법이 마땅치 않다. 따라서 관련 자격증을 취득하는 게 서류전형에 우위를 점할 수 있다”면서 “지난해 네트워크보안반 학생들이 취득한 자격증은 총 70여 개, 학생 1인당 평균 2.3개에 달한다.”고 설명했다.
고정호 교수는 “온택트 문화가 뉴노멀로 자리잡아갈 것을 감안하면 네트워크 보안 분야의 일자리, 즉 취업은 탄탄대로”라면서 “내년 졸업할 학생들 취업은 100% 달성이라고 감히 말할 수 있다”며 자신감을 드러냈다.
