1일 울진군에 따르면 군은 최근 초경량 비행장치(드론)의 활용과 관심도 증가 및 자격증 취득 수요자가 늘어나는 추세로 동해안권에는 상설시험장이 없어 지역민들은 자격 취득에 시간적, 경제적 어려움을 겪고 있어 이번 실기시험장 유치에 나섰다.
지난 8월 농업기술센터 내 부지를 활용하여, 조종실, 안전 설비 등 각종 실기시험장 조건을 갖추어 한국교통안전공단 공모에 참여, 1차 서류심사에 통과 후 공단의 현장실사를 거쳐, 10월 26일 대상지로 최종 확정되는 쾌거를 이루게 됐다.
실기 시험장은 2022년 1월부터 운영 예정이며, 자격증 취득을 위한 방문자 증가를 통한 경제 활성화 및 4차 산업을 선도하는 울진군 브랜드가치 상승에 도움이 될 것으로 기대된다.
황증호 울진군농업기술센터 소장은“드론 실기시험장 선정으로 군민들의 불편이 해소되고, 자격증 취득을 위한 타지역민의 울진군 방문으로 ‘울진 방문의 해’ 추진에 보탬이 될 것으로 기대한다”고 말했다.
