울진군(군수 전찬걸)은 30일 평해읍 학곡리 산58번지 일원에서 남울진국민체육센터 건립사업 기공식을 개최했다고 밝혔다.
군에 따르면 남울진국민체육센터 건립사업은 2021년도 생활밀착형 공공체육시설 확충과 관련된 공모사업에 선정되면서 사업부지 47,362㎡(약14,000평)에 총사업비 208억원(국비 30억원, 군비 178억원)으로 지하 1층, 지상 3층, 연면적 4,324㎡ 규모로 2023년도 6월 준공을 목표로 건립된다.
1층은 25m길이 6레일 규모의 수영장이 들어서고, 2·3층은 다목적 실내체육관, 헬스장, 사무실 등을 갖춘 복합체육센터로 건립될 예정으로, 주민들의 생활체육활성화가 기대된다.
전찬걸 울진군수는“남울진국민체육센터 건립으로 생활체육시설을 균형적으로 확충하여 군민 전체의 체육활동을 지원하고 지역민들이 쾌적한 환경에서 다양한 생활체육을 즐기면서 건강한 삶을 누리는 공간이 되길 바란다”고 말했다.
