[브레이크뉴스=이성용기자] 경남도교육청 소속 마산지혜의바다도서관이 한국문화공간건축학회에서 주최한 제7회 한국문화공간상을 받았다고 밝혔다.
한국문화공간상은 새로운 개념의 문화공간에 대한 비전을 제공하는 건축물 중 사용자의 평가가 우수하고 콘텐츠 및 창의적 운영 프로그램이 돋보이는 기관에 주어진다.
새로운 개념의 문화공간에 대한 비전 제공에 기여한 작가(발주기관 포함)의 공헌을 치하하고 발전적인 창작활동을 권장하기 위하여 매년 박물관.미술관, 도서관, 공연장, 작은문화공간, 전시기획, 특별상 등 6개 분야를 선정하여 시상한다.
마산지혜의바다도서관은 공공도서관의 전통적인 자료보관 및 열람과 학습 공간에서 벗어나, 레고.보드방, 힐링방, 웹툰방, 카페테리아, 공연 공간 등 다양한 공간을 배치하여 새로운 패러다임을 제시한 점에서 높은 평가를 받았다.
마산지혜의바다도서관은 2018년 구도심 지역의 폐교가 된 학교체육관(다목적강당)을 리모델링하여 독서·문화·예술이 공존하는 지역의 새로운 독서문화를 열어가는 복합독서문화공간으로 탈바꿈했다.
안태환 창의인재과장은 “마산지혜의바다도서관이라는 공간을 통해 시민들이 공간의 가치를 새롭게 인식하고, 독서와 문화공간이 공존하는 새로운 복합문화공간으로 역할을 다할 수 있도록 운영에 최선을 다하겠다. 앞으로도 폐교를 활용한 복합독서문화공간 사업을 지속적으로 추진할 예정이다.”고 말했다.
