이번 기획단속은 최근 폐기물 관리망을 피해 폐기물을 무단 방치하거나, 빈 공장 등에 불법투기 되는 사례가 빈번하게 발생하는 등 사회적.환경적 피해가 발생하고, 중국의 폐기물 수입금지 조치 등으로 폐기물 처리단가 인상에 따른 무허가 폐기물처리업체 난립과 폐기물 불법 처리 행위에 대하여 선제적으로 대응하기 위한 목적이다.
도 특사경은 폐기물 무단 방치 및 투기 행위 등의 시발점을 무허가 폐기물 처리업자로 주목하고 오는 17일부터 시·군과 합동으로 기획단속을 전격 실시한다.
아울러 허가받은 폐기물 처리업체 중에서도 폐기물을 정상적으로 처리하지 않고 사업장 내외에 무단으로 방치하여 처리 능력을 상실하거나, 무단투기 및 불법 소각하는 행위 등도 점검할 계획이다.
