브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 이재명 더불어민주당 대선후보가 6일 저녁 김종인 전 국민의힘 총괄선거대책위원장과 비공개 회동을 가진 것과 관련, 무슨 말이 오갔는지 궁금증이 증폭되고 있다.
민주당측 관계자에 따르면 이재명 후보는 6일 1박2일의 부산·울산·경남(PK) 방문 일정을 마무리하고 서울로 상경해 서울 광화문에 위치한 김종인 전 위원장의 사무실을 찾았다. 오후 8시경 만난 두 사람은 약 80분간 대화하고 헤어졌다.
어떤 내용의 대화를 주고 받았는지는 정확하게 나온 내용은 없으나, 이 후보측 요청에 따라 마련된 자리로, 이 후보는 이날 김종인 전 위원장에게 대선 전략에 대한 조언 등을 구한 것으로 전해졌다.

송영길 대표도 7일 CBS 라디오 '김현정의 뉴스쇼'에서 "두사람은 원래 한번 만나려고 했다. 저도 두세번 만나뵀는데, 김 전 위원장은 이재명 후보에 대해서 긍정적 생각을 가지고 계신다"며 "국가가 나아갈 방향과 경제 문제에 대해서 아무래도 비교가 안 되니까. 윤석열 후보에 비해서 이 후보가 잘 준비돼 있다는 것은 인정하는 것 같다"고 말했다.
다만 그는 구체적인 회동 내용에 대해선 "긍정적인 이야기가 있었을 것"이라면서도 "(이 후보에게) 나중에 확인해보겠다"고 말을 아꼈다.
송 대표는 지난달 31일에도 김 전 위원장을 만난 사실을 전하며 "나라를 위해 도와달라고 했다"라고 밝힌 바 있다.
