신천지자원봉사단 동해지부측은 9일자 보도자료를 통해 “신천지자원봉사단 동해지부는 지난 6일 동해지역에서 발생한 대형 산불로 삶의 터전을 잃은 지역주민들에게 온정의 손길을 나누었다. 봉사자들은 갑작스러운 산불로 큰 피해를 입은 이재민들에게 조금이나마 위안과 도움이 되고자 이재민들이 임시로 머물고 있는 국가철도공단 망상수련원을 방문해 라면과 과일 등 100만원 상당의 구호물품을 전달했다”고 밝혔다.
