[브레이크뉴스=이성용기자] 창원시(시장 허성무)는 ‘제62주년 3?15의거 기념식’이 국가보훈처 주관으로 15일 오후 2시 마산회원구 3?15아트센터에서 거행됐다고 밝혔다.
이날 김부겸 국무총리를 비롯한 국가 주요인사와 3?15의거 참여 국가유공자 및 유족과 학생 등 100여명이 참석했다. 기념식은 ‘새 희망을 품고 가고 가고 또, 간다’라는 주제로 열렸으며, 국민의례, 여는영상, 기념공연 1막, 기념사, 기념공연 2막, ‘3?15의거 노래’ 제창 등의 순서로 경건하게 진행됐다.
기념식에 앞서 김부겸 국무총리, 황기철 국가보훈처장, 정근식 진실화해위원장, 하병필 경남도지사권한대행, 허성무 창원시장, 3?15의거기념사업회장 등을 비롯한 3?15의거 유족들과 학생대표들은 국립3?15민주묘지를 찾아 민주주의 발전을 위해 희생한 3?15의거 국가유공자들의 묘역을 참배해 민주영령들의 넋을 위로했다.
‘3?15의거’는 1960년 3월 15일 창원(구 마산)의 학생들과 시민들이 부정선거와 독재정권에 저항하며 일어났으며, 4?19혁명의 도화선이 되어 우리나라 민주주의 초석을 다진 자랑스러운 민주주의의 역사이다.
시는 3?15의거 정신을 널리 전파하고 후대에 계승하기 위해 지난해 3?15의거 발원지에 기념관을 건립하여 운영하고 있으며, 연중 각종 추모행사를 추진하고 있다.
