[브레이크뉴스=이성용 기자] 경상남도 박완수 지사는 21일 오후 스마트팜 혁신거점으로 조성 중인 밀양의 ‘경남 스마트팜 혁신밸리 조성사업’ 현장을 방문해 직접 점검에 나섰다.
박 도지사는 관계공무원으로부터 조성사업 추진상황과 핵심시설 운영 준비를 보고받고, 멜론과 상추를 재배 중인 스마트팜 청년 실습온실을 둘러본 뒤, 태블릿PC를 사용해 스마트팜 온실환경을 직접 원격으로 제어하며 시설물의 작동상황을 함께 점검했다.
박 도지사는 “스마트농업은 우리 농업과 농촌의 성장을 이끌고 지역발전의 원동력이 될 것”이라며 “경남도는 스마트팜 혁신밸리 조성을 통한 농업 분야의 경쟁력 강화와 함께 청년 농업인들이 농업 분야에 안심하고 진입할 수 있도록 관심과 지원을 지속적으로 이어나가겠다.”고 말했다.
경남도는 스마트팜 확산 기반 구축을 위해 농림축산식품부의 ‘스마트팜 혁신밸리 조성사업’을 2019년 3월에 유치했고, 올해 8월 준공을 목표로 하고 있다.
스마트팜 혁신밸리 조성을 통해 농업의 생태계 활성화는 물론 미래 경남의 스마트농업을 주도할 거점이 될 것으로 기대된다.

박 도지사는 민생현안에 대한 의견을 청취하기 위해 박일호 밀양시장, 예상원 도의원, 정정규 밀양시의회의장, 박상문 한국농촌지도자 경남도연합회장, 민경갑 밀양시 체육회장, 백정화 밀양시 여성단체협의회장, 이수구 밀양시 주민자치연합회장 등과 오찬을 함께 하며 간담회를 가졌다.
박 도지사는 “도와 시군은 동반자 관계로서 지역 문제를 함께 고민하고 경남 발전을 위해서 원팀이 되어야 한다.”면서 “청년인력 양성과 기술혁신을 집약한 스마트팜을 확산하고, 농업의 선후방 산업의 동반성장을 통해 농업의 부가가치를 높여서 지역경제 발전을 이끌도록 만들어가야 한다.”고 밝혔다.
