파주시(시장 김경일)는 27일 문산읍 임진리 선착장에서 임진강 수산자원을 살리고 어민들의 소득을 늘리기 위해 파주시의 특산물인 황복을 방류했다고 밝혔다.

이날 행사에는 김경일 파주시장, 박정 국회의원, 이성철 시의회 의장을 비롯한 시의원, 지역 어촌계장, 어민, 관계 공무원 등이 참석한 가운데 건강한 어린 황복 17여만 마리가 방류됐다.
지난 1997년부터 황복 방류행사를 진행한 파주시는 이번 년도에 2억2,000만원의 사업비를 들여 황복을 비롯한 참게, 동자개 등 140만여 마리의 어린 물고기를 방류했다.
또한, 어린 물고기 방류사업의 효과를 높이기 위해 물고기의 산란과 번식 환경을 제공하는 인공산란장 조성사업과 임진강 및 선착장의 각종 폐어망·어구, 생활 쓰레기 등을 수거하는 임진강 정화활동을 함께 실시하고 있다.
