진주시, 저소득층 및 사회복지시설 LED조명 교체사업 추진

[브레이크뉴스=정철규기자] 진주시는 에너지 사용량 절감과 생활환경 개선을 위해 저소득층 105가구와 사회복지시설 4개소를 대상으로 노후조명 936개를 LED조명으로 교체하는 사업을 추진한다.

저소득층 및 사회복지시설 LED조명 교체사업은 전기요금 절감과 에너지복지 실현을 위해 오래된 조명기기를 LED조명으로 교체하는 사업이다.

시는 저소득 가구와 에너지 복지사업법에 의해 설치·운영되고 있는 복지시설 중 건령이 5년 이상인 시설에 대해 매년 사업을 진행하고 있다.

진주시는 지난 2018년부터 지난해까지 저소득층 1089가구에 6억6900만원, 사회복지시설 27개소에 4억6300만원을 들여 8287개의 LED조명 교체를 완료했다.

시는 기존에 설치된 노후조명을 고효율 LED조명으로 교체해 저소득층 어르신, 어린이, 장애인 및 시설을 이용하는 노약자 등 취약계층에 밝고 따뜻한 조명을 제공하고 있다.

진주시 관계자는 “LED조명은 형광등보다 2배 밝으면서 약 50%의 전기요금 절감이 가능하고, 수명도 5배 이상 길어 에너지 절약과 전기요금 절감 효과가 탁월하다”고 말했다.
