[브레이크뉴스=이성용 기자] 창원시의회 문화환경도시위원회(위원장 정길상)가 깨끗한 수돗물 공급을 위한 현장 행보에 나섰다.
위원회는 5일 대산정수장과 칠서정수장을 잇달아 방문해 하절기 정수시설 운영 등에 대해 점검했다.
이번 현장 방문은 여름철 폭염과 가뭄으로 낙동강에 연일 녹조가 발생하고 있는 가운데 관내 취·정수장 운영실태를 점검하기 위해 실시됐다.
각 정수장별 시설 운영 현황과 녹조 발생시 대응 상황에 대한 설명을 듣고 시설물 관리 상황을 꼼꼼히 살펴봤다.
위원회는 지난 7월 11일 깔따구로 추정되는 유충이 발견된 진해 석동정수장의 시설물 점검을 실시한 바 있다.
대산정수장은 동읍과 대산·북면 등에 하루 평균 5만6000톤, 칠서정수장은 마산 전 지역과 의창구 등에 하루 평균 23만 톤을 공급하는 창원시의 중요한 식수원이다.
정길상 문화환경도시위원장은 “기온상승으로 여름철 수질 관리가 어려운 상황이지만, 시민들이 믿고 마실 수 있는 깨끗하고 안전한 수돗물이 공급될 수 있도록 철저한 시설물 관리를 해 달라”고 당부했다.
또한 문화환경도시위원들은 구암1동 내 도시재생 지원센터를 방문해 주요 사업 현황과 운영상의 문제점 등을 살펴보며 현장 활동을 마무리했다.
