이번에 조기 지급하는 납품대금의 규모는 1만3535개 협력회사에 약 8380억원이다.
대금 지급을 앞당긴 것은 코로나19 장기화와 고유가, 고금리, 고환율 3고 여파로 어려움을 겪는 중소 협력회사들의 명절 자금 운용에 도움을 주기 위해서다.
각 사별 조기 지급 대금 규모는 이마트가 1945개 협력사에 약 2180억원, 신세계백화점이 2600개 협력사에 약 4800억원, 이마트에브리데이가 77개 협력사에 약 37억원이다.
이커머스 업계에서는 드물게 2020년 추석부터 협력회사 납품대금 조기 지급에 동참한 SSG닷컴은 올해 8913개 협력사에 약 1365억원 규모로 조기 대금 지급을 실시한다.
신세계그룹은 추석을 앞두고 납품대금 지급 시기를 기존 정산일로부터 최대 8일 앞당겨 9월 7일에서 8일 사이 지급한다.
신세계그룹 관계자는 “상여금, 임금, 원자재 대금 등 자금 소요가 많은 명절을 맞아 중소협력사들의 납품대금을 앞당겨 지급했다”며 “어려운 시기를 함께 헤쳐 나갈 수 있도록 협력사와의 상생을 위해 다각도로 노력할 것이다”고 말했다.
