파주시는 지난 18일 금촌 IC에서 화물차 안전기준 위반 등을 집중 단속했다고 밝혔다.
이번 단속은 한국교통안전공단 경기북부본부, 경기북부경찰청 고속도로순찰대, 서울문산고속도로(주) 등 10여 명의 합동 단속반을 편성해 실시됐다.

단속의 주요 내용은 도로 위 흉기가 될 수 있는 화물차에 설치된 불법 지지대(판스프링)의 집중 단속과 미인증 불법등화 설치 등 안전기준 위반 점검이며, 단속과 더불어 안전운전 캠페인도 실시했다.
단속 결과 70여 대의 차량을 단속했으며, 불법 사항에 대해서는 원상복구 명령 등의 행정처분을 통보했다.
파주시 관계자는 “향후, 상시 단속을 실시하는 등 안전한 교통문화가 정착될 수 있도록 노력하겠다”고 말했다.[파주=박정호기자]
