브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 이재명 더불어민주당 당대표 후보(의원)는 23일 부인 김혜경씨가 '경기도 법인카드 유용' 의혹으로 경찰 조사를 받은데 대해 "제가 부하직원을 제대로 관리 못하고, 제 아내가 공무원에게 사적 도움을 받은 점은 국민께 다시 한번 깊이 사죄드린다"고 밝혔다.
이재명 후보는 이날 자신의 페이스북을 통해 "아내가 오늘 법인카드 유용 혐의로 5시간 경찰조사를 받았다. 130회가 넘는 압수수색과 방대한 수사자료, 장기간의 수사에 경찰관 여러분 고생 많으셨다"며 이같이 말했다.
그는 "조사에서 아내가 카드를 쓴 적이 없고, 카드는 배 모 비서관이 쓴 사실이 확인됐다. 아내는 배씨가 사비를 쓴 것으로 알았고, 음식값을 줬다는 점도 밝혔다"면서 "경찰 조사에서 배모씨가 전달했다는 음식은 16건 180만원이었다고 하는데, 이것도 전부 사실도 아니다"라고 주장했다.
이어 그는 "음식점에서 아내는 선거 카드로 자기 몫 2만6000원만 냈고, 동석자 3인 몫 7만8000원은 배씨와 제보자 A씨가 아내와 수행책임자 B모 변호사에게까지 숨기며 법인카드로 결재했음을 보여주는 A씨와 배씨간 대화녹음을 지적했는데, 경찰은 이에 대해 설명해 주지 않았다"고 지적했다.
이재명 후보는 또한 "180만원이 적은 돈이 아니고 불법유용에 가담했다면 큰 잘못"이라며 "그러나 법인카드를 쓰거나 부당사용을 지시하거나 부당사용을 알면서 용인한 것도 아닌데 평생 한번 있을까 말까한 고통을 겪는 아내에게 남편으로서 한없이 미안할 뿐"이라고 했다.
이 후보 측은 앞서 여러차례 "이 사건은 물론 그동안 김 씨는 법인카드 사용을 지시한 적 없고, 법인카드의 부당사용사실도 알지 못했다"며 거듭 의혹을 부인해왔다.
한편 김혜경씨는 경기도 소속 공무원에게 음식 배달을 지시하거나 집안일 등 사적 심부름에 동원한 혐의로 고발된 바 있으며 이 과정에서 법인카드 사적 유용 의혹도 제기됐다.
경찰은 이날 조사에서 김혜경씨에게 배 씨 등을 통해 개인 음식값을 법인카드로 결제하도록 했는지 등을 집중적으로 캐물은 것으로 전해졌으며 조사 결과를 바탕으로 카드를 직접 사용한 배 모 비서관에 대한 사전구속영장을 신청할 방침인 것으로 알려졌다.
