서울웹페스트(Seoul Webfest)측은 지난 8월21일자 보도자료에서 “올해로 제8회 웹전문 국제 디지털 페스티벌 서울웹페스트(Seoul Webfest)가 8월 20일 엘컨벤션에서 성공리에 폐막을 했다. 이번 행사는 서울웹페스트 조직위원회에서 주관하고 부일컨텐츠에서 후원했다. 폐막식 행사에는 홍보대사인 달콤살콤 시즌2로 해외 영화제에서 남우주연상을 받은 김명호 배우를 시작으로 레드카펫 행사가 시작되었다. 그 뒤를 이어 해외 탑 모델 30여명, 한복모델 30여명, 국내 인기작가 30여명, 화동 13여명이 레드카펫을 밟았다. 올해부터 고이그림 아트디렉터가 영입 되면서 영화제 뿐만 아니라 아트마켓을 동시에 세팅했고 독특한 기획으로 아트마켓에 초대된 작가들이 미술품과 함께 레드카펫을 밟았다.”고 전하고 “해외에서 참석한 크리에이터들과 감독과 배우들, 국내 크리에이터들 감독과 배우들, 특히 주이안 배우, 배시진 배우가 레드카펫을 밟았다. 레드카펫 하이라이트는 남우주연상 후보 아스트로 라키(Rocky)와 여우주연상 후보 이수민 배우였다. 유튜브 라이브 스트리밍으로 전 세계 팬들이 동시에 레드카펫과 시상식 행사를 지켜보았다. 라이브 스트리밍 조회수 2만을 찍었다”고 알렸다.
이어 “제8회 서울웹페스트 시상식에서 총 191편중에서 37편이 수상의 영예를 안았다”고 소개했다. 주요 수상자들은 다음과 같다.
웹시리즈 대상은 “짠내아이돌(Broke Rookie Star)”작품과 해외 “Strings Attached”작품이 받았다. 남우주연상은 “짠내아이돌”의 라키배우가 받았고, 여우주연상은 “두명의 우주”의 이수민 배우가 받았다. 시리즈 부문에 감독상은 “두명의 우주”의 이제희 감독이 받았고, 숏츠 부문에 감독상은 “파친코”의 김민하 배우가 출연했던 “번화가”의 김재겸 감독이 받았다.
한국 감독들이 많이 기대했던 해외웹페스트 초청작들은 다음과 같다. LAWEBFEST, 마르세유 웹페스트 외 10개의 웹페스트 집행위원장들의 영상메시지로 한국 선정작들이 발표되었다. 총 25작품이 해외웹페스트 선정을 받았고, 올해와 내년에 해외 작품들과 나란히 경쟁후보로 올라갈 예정이다.
한편 강영만 집행위원장은 “올해 처음으로 각각 테이블에 앉아서 각각 소개와 대화 후에 돌아가면서 한국 크리에이터들, 작가들, 모델들과 외국 크리에이터들의 매치 메이킹 네트워크 이벤트를 했는데 반응이 좋았다. 앞으로 더욱더 확장할 것.”이라고 강조했다.

In a press release on August 21st, Seoul Webfest said, “This year, the 8th international web-specialized digital festival Seoul Webfest successfully closed at the L Convention on August 20th. This event was hosted by the Seoul Webfest Organizing Committee and sponsored by Buil Contents. At the closing ceremony, the red carpet event started with actor Kim Myung-ho, who won the Best Actor Award at an overseas film festival for Season 2 of Sweet Salty, the PR ambassador. After that, 30 overseas top models, 30 hanbok models, 30 popular domestic writers, and 13 Hwadong models stepped on the red carpet. As art director Goi Grim was recruited from this year, not only the film festival but also the art market were set at the same time, and the artists invited to the art market with their unique project stepped on the red carpet along with their artworks,” he said. Fields, domestic creators, directors and actors, especially Joo Ian and Bae Si-jin, stepped on the red carpet. Red carpet highlights were Best Actor nominee Astro Rocky and Best Actress nominee Lee Soo-min. With YouTube live streaming, fans around the world watched the red carpet and awards ceremony at the same time. We hit 20,000 live streaming views.”
He then introduced, “At the 8th Seoul Webfest Awards, 37 out of a total of 191 films were honored with the award.” The main winners are:
The web series grand prize went to “Broke Rookie Star” and overseas “Strings Attached” works. The Best Actor award went to Rocky in “My Salty Idol,” and the Best Actress Award went to Lee Soo-min in “Two Universes.” In the series category, director Jee-hee Lee of “Two Universes” received the best director award, and in the shorts category, director Kim Jae-gyeom of “Business Street,” starring Min-ha Kim of “Pachinko,” took the best director award.
The overseas webfest invitations that Korean directors have been looking forward to are as follows. LAWEBFEST, Marseille Webfest, and other 10 Webfest executives' video messages from Korea selected Korean films were announced. A total of 25 works were selected for the overseas webfest, and they are expected to be nominated alongside overseas works this year and next year.
Meanwhile, Executive Chairman Kang Young-man said, “For the first time this year, we sat at each table and took turns after introducing and talking to each other and held a matchmaking network event with Korean creators, writers, models, and foreign creators, and the response was good. We will expand further in the future.”
