지난 8월23일 저녁, 한화갑 전 민주당 대표, 그리고 손범식 치과의사 등과 저녁을 함께 했다. 이 자리에서 손범식 치과의사는 “페니실린, 비누, 치약이 인간의 수명을 늘린 현대사회의 3대 발명품”이라고 말했다. 이 발언과 관련, 수필적(隨筆的)으로 접근하는 글을 쓴다. ‘붓 가는 대로(컴퓨터 자판을 두들기는 대로) 쓰는 글‘을 의미한다.
1945년 무렵의 대한민국인 평균 수명은 45세 전후였다고 한다. 이 3대 발명품이 대한민국인 수명을 각각 10년씩 늘려주었다는 주장이다. 인체 가운데 세상과 접촉하는 눈, 손톱, 입, 코구멍, 생식기 부근이 깨끗해야 한다고 말했다. 세균이 득실거리기 때문이란다.
“누구든, 칫솔을 자주 사용해서 입으로 들어가는 세균을 박멸합시다! 그리하면 장수할 것입니다.”
필자는 3대장수 발명품에 이어 4대 장수발명품을 추가하고자 한다. 3대 장수발명품이 각각 10년씩의 수명을 연장했듯이, 4대 장수발명품도 대한민국인 수명을 10년 더 연장, 대한민국을 세계 최고의 장수국가로 만들어 줄 것으로 예단(豫斷)한다.
인터넷 발명이 4대 장수발명품이다. 왜냐? 인터넷이 모든 건강뉴스를 제공, 스마트폰만 가지고 있으면 스스로 자가(自家) 의사(醫師)가 될 수 있기 때문이다.
필자는 지난 50여 년 주간신문 업계에만 있었다. 사회변동에 따른, 언론업계의 변화를 상세하게 지켜볼 수 있었다. 인터넷은 세상의 급(急) 변화를 몰고 왔다. 그간 시대별로, 존중됐던 매체가 각기 달랐다. 라디오, 텔레비전, 종이신문 등등의 매체가 주류 매체의 자리를 차지해 왔었다. 그런데, 최 근년에 인터넷 세상이 되면서, 과거에 통용됐던 기존 매체들이 모두 시들해졌다.
전 세계로 차면, 스마트폰 보급률이 높아지면서 스마트폰을 통한 소통시대가 열렸다. 인터넷+스마트폰 발명은 곧 첨단 소통도구의 발명이랄 수 있다. 그리하여 이 발명품이 주요한 정보-뉴스의 소통도구로 자리를 잡았다. 스마트폰을 통한 건강 정보의 빠른 입수는 이 시대를 살고 있는 사람들의 장수에도 영향을 미친다고 본다.
그간 페니실린, 비누, 칫솔 등이 현대 인류의 장수에 기여했다는 것을 믿는다. 대한민국 사람들에게 주효(奏效) 했다. 현재 지구상의 인류는 누구든 과거에 미처 경험해보지 못한 인터넷 시대를 살고 있다. 인터넷 세상은 스마트폰 사용을 상시화(常時化) 했다. 스마트폰을 통한 정보-뉴스의 유입을 극대화한 것이다. 필자의 견해로는 스마트폰은 건강 정보-뉴스의 입수를 아주 용이하게 했다. 여기에서 입수한 건강 정보가 인간의 장수에 도움을 줄 수 있을 것이라는 견해이다.
대한민국은 스마트폰 세계 보급률로 따질 때, 세계 1위 국가이다. 스마트폰 보급율이 아주 낮은 국가들이 많다. 인구가 10억명 넘는 중국이나 인도의 경우, 스마트폰 보급률이 아주 저조하다. 30%를 밑돌고 있다. 대한민국 수준으로 따라오려면, 10여년이 걸릴 수도 있다.
첨단 인터넷 세상을 만들고, 관리하고 있는 KT나 SK는 우리나라를 인터넷 선진국으로 만들어가는 대기업이랄 수 있다. 또한 세계적인 스마트폰 제조업체인 삼성전자 또한 대한민국을 선진국화, 선진국으로 견인(牽引)하는 대기업이다. 이 시대의 대한민국을 위대하게 건설해가는 대기업들이다.
코로나19의 대유행은 살아남은 자에겐 축복이 될 수도 있다. 소독하며 살아가는 청결주의가 온 세계에 정착, 건강한 삶을 영위할 수 있는 글로벌사회가 됐기 때문이다. 코로나19는 대한민국 사람들의 장수화(長壽化)에도 기여한 질병이라는 평가를 받을 만 하다.
인터넷 분야의 첨단-선진국가인 대한민국은 장수국가가 될 수 있는 여건을 갖추었다. 그래서 대한민국이 세계장수 국가 1위의 국가가 되는 것은, 말 그대로 '시간문제'라 할 수 있다. “대한민국, 대단한 나라이다.” moonilsuk@naver.com

On the evening of August 23, I had dinner with former Democratic Party leader Han Hwa-gap and dentist Beom-shik Son. At this meeting, dentist Son Beom-sik said, "Penicillin, soap, and toothpaste are the three major inventions of modern society that have prolonged the lifespan of humans." In relation to this remark, I write an essay approaching it. It means 'writing with the brush strokes'.
It is said that the average life expectancy of Koreans around 1945 was around 45 years old. It is claimed that these three inventions increased the lifespan of Koreans by 10 years each. He said that the parts of the human body that come into contact with the world, such as eyes, nails, mouth, nose, and genitals, should be clean. This is because it is infested with bacteria.
“Everyone, let's use a toothbrush frequently to kill germs that get into our mouths! Then you will live a long life.”
I would like to add the 4 longevity inventions following the 3rd longevity inventions. Just as the three long-lived inventions extended their lifespan by 10 years each, the four long-lived inventions are predicted to extend the lifespan of Koreans by 10 more years, making Korea the world's best longevity country.
The invention of the Internet is one of the four long-lived inventions. because? This is because the Internet provides all health news, and if you have a smartphone, you can become your own doctor (醫師).
I have only been in the weekly newspaper industry for the past 50 years or so. It was possible to observe the changes in the media industry in detail according to social changes. The Internet has brought about rapid changes in the world. Depending on the era, the media that were respected were different. Media such as radio, television, and paper newspapers have taken the place of mainstream media. However, in recent years, with the advent of the Internet world, all the existing media used in the past have withered away.
As the penetration rate of smartphones increases, the era of communication through smartphones has opened. The invention of the Internet + smartphone can be the invention of a cutting-edge communication tool. Thus, this invention established itself as a major information-news communication tool. It is believed that the rapid access of health information through smartphones also affects the longevity of people living in this era.
We believe that penicillin, soap, and toothbrushes have contributed to the longevity of modern humans. He did a good job for the ᄉㆍᄅᅠᆷ in Korea. Currently, human beings on Earth are living in an era of the Internet that no one has ever experienced before. In the internet world, the use of smartphones has become regular. The inflow of information-news through smartphones is maximized. In my opinion, smartphones have greatly facilitated access to health information-news. The health information obtained here can help people live long.
South Korea ranks first in the world in terms of the global smartphone penetration rate. There are many countries where smartphone penetration is very low. In China and India, which have more than 1 billion people, smartphone penetration is very low. is below 30%. It may take 10 years to catch up to the Korean level.
KT and SK, which are creating and managing the cutting-edge internet world, can be large corporations that are making Korea an advanced internet country. In addition, Samsung Electronics, a world-class smartphone manufacturer, is also a major conglomerate leading Korea to become an advanced country. They are the conglomerates that are building the Republic of Korea in this era great.
The COVID-19 pandemic could be a blessing to those who survived. This is because the cleanliness of living with disinfection has become a global society where people can lead a healthy life. Corona 19 deserves evaluation as a disease that has contributed to the longevity of Koreans.
