[브레이크뉴스=주윤한 기자] 산청군이 농촌 일손 부족 문제 해소를 위해 박차를 가한다.
산청군은 31일 방글라데시 해외고용서비스(BOESL)와 외국인 계절근로자 도입 등 교류에 관한 업무협약(MOU)을 체결했다고 밝혔다.
이날 협약식은 이승화 산청군수, 모끼마 베곰(Mokima Begum) 주한방글라데시 참사관, 안천원 산청군의회 의회운영위원장 등이 참석한 가운데 비대면으로 이뤄졌다.
협약에서 양 기관은 상호 이해와 우의를 증진시키고 상호교류 및 농업 분야 발전을 위해 힘을 모으기로 했다.
협약 주요내용으로는 △농업 경쟁력 향상과 농가 소득 증대를 위한 교류협력 사업 추진 △계절근로자 적극 유치 △계절근로자 우수한 인력확보 및 선발 등이다.
특히 산청군은 이번 협약을 통해 외국인 계절근로자를 적극 도입, 산청 특산물인 딸기와, 애호박, 방울토마토 등 농가의 인력난을 해결한다는 방침이다.
모끼마 베곰 참사관은 “대한민국과 방글라데시는 지난 50년간 깊은 우정을 바탕으로 우호적인 관계를 지속하고 있다”며 “방글라데시 근로자들에게 대한민국 산청에서 일 할수 있는 기회를 제공한 산청군에 감사하다”고 말했다.
이승화 산청군수는 “이번 협약을 통해 농번기 일손 부족으로 어려움을 겪고 있는 농가에 큰 힘이 될 것이다”며 “앞으로 산청군과 방글라데시의 농업발전 뿐만 아니라 사회, 문화 등 다양한 분야에서 교류가 활성화 되길 바란다”고 말했다.
