[브레이크뉴스=이성용 기자] 창원특례시는 12일 제3회의실에서 홍남표 시장을 비롯한 제1ㆍ2부시장, 실·국·소장, 공약업무 추진 부서장 등이 참석한 가운데 ‘민선8기 공약사업 실행보고회’를 개최했다.
이번 ‘공약사업 실행보고회’는 향후 공약 추진 방안에 대해 제대로 방향을 설계해 공약 추진에 박차를 가하고 이행하고자 마련됐다.
시는 민선 8기 시정 비전인 ‘동북아 중심도시 창원’이라는 슬로건 아래 창원특례시민 102만의 염원과 요청을 총 72개의 공약에 담아 창원이 지향하는 미래 모습에 시너지를 더한다는 계획이다.
민선 8기 공약은 5대 전략별로 ▲혁신성장 경제기반 구축 전략은 ‘원자력 산업의 조기 정상화’ 등 12개 ▲보듬복지 행복생태 조성 전략은 ‘창원맘 커뮤니티센터 설치’ 등 14개 ▲문화환경 품격도시 창출 전략은 ‘K-Culture 교육센터 건립’ 등 20개 ▲통합도시 공간구조 재편 전략은 ‘마산만 재생을 위한 Grand design 기획 착수’ 등 21개 ▲청년의 꿈과 희망 실현 전략은 ‘시장 직속 청년정책담당관 신설’ 등 5개로 편성했다.

이날 보고회는 총 72개 공약에 대해 공약 목표와 추진방향, 실천방안 등을 보고하는 형식으로 진행됐으며, 일부 공약사업에 대해서는 중점 토론을 진행하여 실행력 제고를 모색하는 등 세부실천계획을 보완하고, 확정된 계획은 시 홈페이지를 통해 공개할 예정이다.
홍남표 창원특례시장은 “민선 8기 공약에는 시민들의 염원이 담겨 있는 만큼 시민의 관점에서 업무를 추진해 주기를 바란다”며 “공약을 추진하는 데 있어 관련 절차 이행, 예산 확보 등 많은 난관이 있겠지만, 목표 달성을 이룰 수 있도록 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.
