한국자유총연맹(이하 총연맹)측은 17일자 보도자료에서 “한국자유총연맹 산하 전국청년협의회(회장 김택선, 이하 청년회)는 10월 15일(토)부터 16일(일)까지 충남 아산에 위치한 온양관광호텔에서 ‘2022 전국 청년회장 합동연수’를 진행했다”고 밝혔다.
이어 “총연맹 청년회가 주최하고 충남지부에서 주관한 이번 합동연수에는 전국 청년회원 345명이 참여해 지구촌재난구조단 등 청년회의 봉사활동과 연간사업에 대한 평가와 함께 지역 우수 사례 전파 및 향후 태풍과 수해, 산불 피해 복구에 있어 효과적인 봉사 방법 등을 모색했다.”고 덧붙였다.
총연맹 송영무 총재는 이 모임에서 “2022년에도 꾸준히 이웃과 소외계층을 보살피는 봉사활동을 전국 방방곡곡에서 열심히 펼치신 것에 대해 깊이 감사드린다”라며 “우리 이웃들이 코로나 이후의 삶에서도 행복한 일상을, 즉 대한민국 헌법에서 보장한 자유를 마음껏 누릴 수 있도록 도움이 되어주길 바란다”고 당부했다.
청년회 김택선 회장은 대회사를 통해 “코로나로 야기된 변화된 환경으로 어려운 시국이지만 전국 청년회 여러분의 적극적이고 자발적인 참여가 지역 사회의 발전에 물꼬를 터줄 것이라 믿어 의심치 않는다”라며, “앞으로도 청년회원 여러분이 각자의 위치에서 희망찬 대한민국의 미래를 위해 최선을 다해 주실 것을 부탁한다”고 말했다.
김태흠 충남도지사, 강훈식 국회의원, 이명수 국회의원, 박경귀 아산시장, 김희영 아산시의회 의장, 총연맹 신동혁 사무총장, 충남지부 김상한 회장 등이 연수 참석 및 축사를 통해 청년회원들의 노고에 화답했다.
1954년에 출범한 한국자유총연맹은 지난 68년간 자유민주주의 수호·발전 및 자유민주적 기본질서에 입각한 평화통일을 추구하기 위한 다양한 활동을 전개해 왔다. 총연맹은 지난 2002년 UN 경제사회이사회의 특별협의 지위를 부여받은 국내 최대 규모의 국민정신운동단체이다.
