브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 검찰이 이재명 더불어민주당 대표의 최측근으로 꼽히는 김용(56) 민주연구원 부원장을 19일 오전 체포했다.
이날 법조계에 따르면 서울중앙지검 반부패수사3부(부장검사 강백신)는 이날 오전 김용 부원장을 정치자금법 위반 혐의로 체포했다.
위례신도시 개발 특혜 의혹과 관련, 유동규 전 성남도시개발공사 기획본부장과 민간사업자들로부터 수억원의 금품을 받은 혐의다.
김 부원장은 2010~2018년 위례 개발이 추진될 당시 성남시 시의원을 지냈는데, 검찰은 유동규 전 본부장 등이 2013년 11월 위례신도시 개발 사업에 참여할 민간사업자를 공모할 당시 위례자산관리에게 유리하도록 심사 기준을 조정하는 등 특혜를 줬다고 보고 있다.
또한 위례자산관리가 우선협상 대상자로 선정된 뒤에는 자본금 납입 기한을 연장해주는 등 지속적으로 특혜를 제공했다고 보고 있다.
한편 김용 부원장은 이재명 대표의 성남시장 시절부터 함께한 최측근으로 분류된다. 이재명 대표의 경기도지사 시절에는 경기도 대변인을 지냈다. 이 대표가 민주당 대선후보 시절일 때는 선대위 총괄 부본부장으로 일하기도 했다.

Prosecutors arrested Kim Yong (56), vice president of the Democratic Research Institute, who is considered one of the closest aides to Lee Jae-myung of the Democratic Party of Korea, on the morning of the 19th.
According to legal circles, the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office arrested Vice President Kim Yong earlier in the day on charges of violating the Political Funds Act.
In connection with the suspicion of preferential treatment for the development of Wirye New Town, Yoo Dong-kyu, former head of Seongnam Urban Development Corporation's planning division, and private businesses are suspected of receiving hundreds of millions of won in bribes.
Vice Chairman Kim served as a city councilor in Seongnam City when the Wirye development was promoted between 2010 and 2018, and the prosecution believes that former head of the department Yoo Dong-kyu gave preferential treatment to Wirye asset management when he recruited private operators to participate in the Wirye New Town development project in November 2013.
In addition, it is believed that Wirye Asset Management continued to provide preferential treatment, such as extending the deadline for payment of capital after being selected as the preferred bidder.
Meanwhile, Vice President Kim Yong is classified as a close aide who has been with CEO Lee Jae-myung since his time as Seongnam Mayor. When Lee Jae-myung was governor of Gyeonggi Province, he served as a spokesman for Gyeonggi Province. When Lee was a presidential candidate for the Democratic Party of Korea, he also worked as the general deputy head of the election committee.
