【브레이크뉴스 울진】이우근 기자=울진군(군수 손병복)은 지난 18일 GS건설(ECO사업부문대표 신상철), DL E&C(플랜트사업본부 본부장 유재호)·CARBONCO(사업개발실 실장 유재형), SK D&D(에너지솔루션본부장 김해중)과‘원자력청정수소산업 육성을 위한 업무협약(MOU)’을 각각 체결했다고 19일 밝혔다.

군에 따르면 이번 업무협약은 울진군에서 추진하고 있는‘울진 원자력 수소 국가산업단지 조성 사업’을 비롯한‘대규모 청정수소 생산실증단지 조성 예타 사업’을 위해 진행됐다.
먼저 GS건설과의 업무협약에서는 ▲SMR(i-SMR 등) 활용 청정수소 생산, ▲해수담수화 플랜트 구축을 통한 산업단지 공업용수 공급, ▲울진 원자력 수소 국가산업단지 조성사업 참여등 울진 산단 내 소형원전(i-SMR)을 활용한 수소 생산 및 공업용수 공급 관련 인프라를 구축할 예정이다.
DL E&C·CARBONCO과의 업무협약에서는 ▲원전 전력 활용 저온 수전해 핑크 수소 및 고온 수전해 퍼플 수소 생산ㆍ실증 사업, ▲암모니아 및 수소 허브 터미널 연계 및 대규모 수요처 공급 파이프라인 등 구축, ▲대규모 청정수소 생산 국가산업단지 전체에서 발생하는 이산화탄소 포집 설비 구축 및 포집한 이산화탄소 활용ㆍ저장 연계 사업, ▲원자력 활용 수소생산 국가산업단지 조성 시 적극 참여등 원전 전력 활용 청정수소생산, 암모니아 수소 사업 및 탄소포집 관련 사업을 수행하기로 협약했다.
SK D&D와 업무협약에서는 ▲ 신재생에너지 발전설비 구축 및 국가산단 전력 공급, ▲원자력 활용 수소생산 국가산업단지 조성 시 적극 참여등으로서 청정수소를활용한 신재생에너지 발전사업을 수행하기로 협약했다.
손병복 울진군수는“이번 MOU로 울진군에서 추진 중인 ‘울진 원자력 수소 국가산업단지 조성사업’과 ‘대규모 청정수소생산실증단지 조성 사업’ 추진에 탄력을 받을 것으로 기대한다”며,“향후 본 사업이 착수되면 동해안수소경제벨트 활성화 및 지역 일자리 창출 등 지역상생에 큰 기여를할 것이다”라고 밝혔다.
