[브레이크뉴스=정철규 기자] 진주시는 오는 20일부터 12월 31일까지 금산면 금호지에서 높이 19m, 너비 14m에 달하는 공공미술품 관광캐릭터 하모를 다시 전시한다.
하모는 올해 문화체육관광부가 주최한 전국캐릭터대회 대상, 핫스타상, 라이징상 등 4개 경쟁부문 중 3관왕을 차지한 진주시 관광캐릭터이다.
관광캐릭터 하모는 지난해 6월 처음으로 금호지에‘하모! 다 잘 될거야!’를 슬로건으로 전시돼 큰 인기를 얻었지만 공공미술품으로 3개월여 만에 철거돼 됐다.
당시 하모는 폴리소재로 보존기간이 2~3개월 가량으로 시민들과 관광객들에게 많은 아쉬움을 남겼지만 지속적인 지역민의 요구와 전국캐릭터대회 대상 수상을 기념해 다시 전시될 예정이다.
특히 시는 이번 전시에서 하모 공공미술품 내 조명등을 설치, 오는 24일부터 11월 6일까지 현장에 홍보부스를 설치해 관광객과 시민들에게 하모 포토 카드 이벤트도 실시할 계획이다.
조규일 진주시장은 “전국캐릭터대회 대상의 영광을 안은 하모가 금호지로 다시 돌아왔다”며“관광객들과 진주시민에게 긍정적인 메시지를 전달하고 귀여운 매력으로 볼거리를 제공할 것이다”고 말했다.
