살기좋고 활기찬 어촌 만들기 위한 다짐

[브레이크뉴스=이성용 기자] 거제에서 자율관리어업인 2,900여 명이 참여한 소통·화합의 장이 마련돼 살기좋고 활기찬 어촌 만들기를 위한 다짐을 했다.

경상남도와 (사)한국자율관리어업 경상남도연합회는 31일 거제시 종합운동장에서 수산업·어촌 발전과 활력 증진을 위한 제10회 자율관리어업 한마음대회를 개최했다.

이번 대회는 (사)자율관리어업 거제시연합회가 주관하여 도내 자율관리어업인들의 소통과 화합을 도모하기 위해 마련됐다.

자율관리어업은 어업인 스스로 규약을 만들어 지역에 맞게 자율적으로 수산자원을 조성?보존하고 어장환경 개선과 불법어업 근절 및 수산물 공동 생산·판매 등을 실천하고자 2001년에 도입돼 도내 9개 시·군, 249개 공동체에 1만여 명의 어업인이 참여하고 있다.

경남도 최만림 행정부지사는 “자율관리어업 공동체는 어촌지역의 체험관광과 수산자원관리를 통해 소득증대와 어촌발전의 구심점 역할을 해오고 있다”며, “자율관리어업의 발전을 위해 다양한 시책과 지속가능한 수산업 발전을 이끌어 나가도록 지원하겠다”고 밝혔다.

한편, 이날 그동안 자율관리어업 발전에 기여한 공무원 2명과 민간인 4명에 대해 도지사 표창 및 기관표창을 수여하고 유공자를 격려했다.
