브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 이태원 참사와 관련, 국민 10명 중 7명은 정부와 지방자치단체에 책임이 있다는 생각을 가진 것으로 나타났다.
또한 이상민 행정안전부 장관이 이번 참사에 대한 책임을 지고 물러나야 한다는 의견도 절반이 넘었다.
4일 여론조사 업체 미디어토마토가 뉴스토마토 의뢰로 지난 10월 31일부터 11월 2일까지 전국 만 18세 이상 1072명을 대상으로 실시한 여론조사를 보면, ‘정부와 지자체에 책임이 있다’는 응답이 73.1%에 달했다.
구체적으로 정부와 지자체의 책임이 매우 크다는 의견이 53.0%, 책임이 있는 편이다는 응답은 20.1%로 조사됐다.
반면 '정부 책임이 없다'는 응답은 23.3%(책임이 없는 편이다 18.6%, 책임이 전혀 없다 4.7%)에 그쳤다. ‘잘 모르겠다’는 응답은 3.6%였다.
연령별로 살펴보면, 대부분의 연령대에서 '정부 책임이 있다'는 의견이 우세했다. 18·19세를 포함한 20대는 책임이 있다는 의견이 66.2%, 30대는 69.8%, 40대 80.5%로 나타났다.
보수 성향이 많은 50대에서도 76.1%, 60대는 72.2%로 정부·지자체 책임론에 동의하는 의견이 많았다.
지역으로 살펴봐도 비슷한 결과가 나왔다. 서울(71.1%)과 인천·경기(73.7%) 등 수도권은 물론 부산·울산·경남 지역(72.4%)과 대구·경북(68.9%)에서도 책임론이 우세했다.
다만 자신을 보수 지지층이라고 밝힌 응답자들 사이에선 정부·지자체 책임론이 52.7%, 책임이 없다는 응답은 41.8%로 큰 격차를 보이지 않았다.
아울러 이상민 장관이 책임지고 물러나야 한다는 의견도 56.8%로 나타났다. 사과 수준에서 마무리해야 한다는 응답은 24.0%, 물러날 일은 아니다라는 의견은 16.7%였다.
한편, 이번 조사는 ARS(RDD) 무선전화 방식으로 진행됐다. 표본오차는 95% 신뢰수준에 ±3.0%p이며 응답률은 4.7%다. 그 밖의 자세한 조사개요와 결과는 중앙선거여론조사심의위원회 홈페이지를 참조하면 된다.

Regarding the Itaewon disaster, a poll was released that 7 out of 10 people believe the government and local governments are responsible.
In addition, more than half of the respondents said that Minister of Public Administration and Security Lee Sang-min should step down to take responsibility for the disaster.
According to a survey of 1,072 people aged 18 or older across the country from October 31 to November 2 at the request of New Stomato, 73.1% of the respondents said they were responsible for the government and local governments.
Specifically, 53.0% of the respondents said the government and local governments are very responsible, and 20.1% said they are responsible.
On the other hand, only 23.3% of the respondents said they were "not responsible for the government" (18.6% for those who are not responsible, 4.7% for those who are not responsible at all). 3.6% of the respondents said they were "not sure."
By age, the opinion that 'government responsibility' was dominant in most age groups. 66.2% of respondents in their 20s, including those aged 18 and 19, 69.8% of those in their 30s, and 80.5% of those in their 40s were found to be responsible.
Even in their 50s, which have many conservative tendencies, 76.1% and 72.2% in their 60s agreed with the government and local governments' responsibility theory.
A similar result was found when looking at the regionally. Responsibility prevailed in the metropolitan areas such as Seoul (71.1%) and Incheon and Gyeonggi (73.7%), as well as in Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongnam (72.4%) and Daegu and Gyeongbuk (68.9%).
However, among the respondents who identified themselves as conservative supporters, 52.7% of the respondents said they were responsible for the government and local governments, and 41.8% said they were not responsible.
In addition, 56.8% of the respondents said that Minister Lee Sang-min should step down in charge. 24.0% of the respondents said they should finish at the level of apology, and 16.7% said they should not step down.
Meanwhile, the survey was conducted using ARS (RDD) wireless phone. The sample error is ±3.0%p with a 95% confidence level, and the response rate is 4.7%. Other detailed investigations and results can be found on the website of the National Election Opinion Review Committee.
