[브레이크뉴스=정철규 기자] 진주시가 코로나19 팬데믹 이후 3년 만에 지난 7일부터 오는 16일까지 콜롬비아, 아르헨티나, 칠레 3개국에 종합무역사절단 파견을 재개했다.
조규일 시장을 단장으로 한 종합무역사절단은 자동차·중장비·기계부품 생산 기업 등 14개 사가 참여해 첫 일정으로 8일 콜롬비아 수도 보고타에서 대한무역투자진흥공사 주관으로 수출상담회를 가졌다.
이날 상담회에서 콜롬비아 농기계·중장비·자동차 부품 분야의 바이어와 1:1 맞춤형 수출상담회를 진행해 76건, 2404만 달러 규모의 수출 상담실적과 200만 달러의 MOU를 성사시켰다.
진주시는 바이어와의 면밀한 상담 및 마케팅 활동을 통해 시 중소기업 제품의 우수성을 알려 콜롬비아 시장 진출의 물꼬를 틀 것으로 예상하고 있다.
콜롬비아는 중남미에서 한국전쟁에 참여한 유일한 국가로 지난 2016년 한-콜롬비아 간 자유무역협정(FTA) 체결로 관세율이 큰 폭으로 낮아지거나 철폐됨에 따라 국내 기업들에 유리한 통상환경이 조성됐다.
조규일 시장은 추종연 주 콜롬비아 대사를 만나 진주 기업들에 관심을 가진 콜롬비아 기업과 사업 파트너가 될 수 있도록 많은 지원과 협조를 당부했다.
이어 루즈 에스메랄다 벨란디아 갈린도 보고타 창업혁신센터장을 만난 조규일 시장은 두 도시의 기업 간 무역교류, 수출 진흥, 창업 등 다방면에 걸친 교류 및 협력방안을 깊이 있게 논의했다.
게다가 종합무역사절단은 오는 12월 보고타에서 개최되는 ‘2022 세계역도선수권대회’의 성공을 기원하며, 오는 2023년 5월 진주에서 개최되는 ‘2023 아시아역도선수권대회’에 대한 홍보활동도 벌였다.
