월아산은 벚나무, 단풍나무, 메타세쿼이아, 참나무류 등 시와 시민들의 꾸준한 노력으로 식재한 나무들이 현재 울창한 숲을 이뤄 늦가을 화려한 단풍이 시민들에게 즐거움을 주고 있다.

월아산 숲속의 진주는 지난 4월에 자연휴양림을 개장해 계절별 문화행사와 산림교육 프로그램 인증 및 업그레이드된 체험 프로그램 운영으로 지난 10월말 기준 19만6000명이 다녀간 것으로 집계됐다.
