[브레이크뉴스=이성용 기자] 홍남표 창원특례시장은 16일 국회를 찾아 내년도 주요사업 국비확보를 위해 막바지 총력을 기울였다.
이날 국회 방문은 예산 편성의 최종 단계인 국회 예산 심사에서 사업 예산을 하나라도 더 확보하고자 하는 의지를 담은 행보로 예결위 간사인 국민의힘 이철규의원, 더불어민주당 박정의원과 정점식, 김두관, 정희용 의원 등 여·야 예결소위 위원들을 차례로 만나 주요사업에 대한 내년도 정부예산 확보를 재차 건의했다.
주요 건의사업은 ▲AI·빅데이터 기반 의료·바이오 첨단기기 제조산업 육성 ▲차세대 첨단 복합빔 조사시설 구축 ▲산업위기대응특별지역 연착륙 지원사업 ▲창원시립상복공원 제3봉안당 건립 ▲도심항공교통(UAM) 지역시범사업 사전검토 연구용역 ▲창원 BRT 구축 ▲창원 서마산IC 진출입로 개선 ▲합성1지구 도시재생 뉴딜사업 ▲대산동읍 하수관로 설치공사 ▲미래 항공모빌리티(AAM) 복합연구센터 구축사업 ▲첨단장비-로봇 디지털제조혁신 지원 ▲경남 원자력산업 종합지원센터 구축 등 총 14건으로 총사업비는 6,578억 원(국비 5,373억 원)이며, 2023년 필요 국비 262억원 증액을 건의했다.

그동안 홍시장은 국비확보를 위해 기재부와 중앙부처를 수시로 방문해 시 주요사업에 대한 지원을 지속적으로 건의해 왔으며, 지난 7월부터는 ‘국회의원 초청 국비확보 연석회의’를 시작으로 박대출 기획재정위원장, 성일종 국민의힘 정책위의장, 김정재 국토위 간사, 이주환, 이인선, 김정재, 장동혁 예결위 위원을 만나 국비 반영의 필요성을 설명하고 관심과 협조를 요청하는 등 국회 예산심의에 선제적으로 대응해 왔다. 그리고 지난 10월29일에는 국회에서 지역 국회의원 초청 조찬간담회를 개최하여 국비확보를 위한 협력 방안을 함께 강구했다.
홍남표 시장은 “국비 사업은 지역발전과 경제 활성화의 마중물 역할을 하는 만큼, 주요사업이 내년도 정부 예산에 반영될 수 있도록 사업의 필요성을 설득력 있게 설명했다.”며 “예산 확보를 위해 마지막 단계인 국회 예결위 통과까지 모든 행정력을 집중하겠다.”고 밝혔다.
