[브레이크뉴스=이성용 기자] 지난달 28일 경남도립미술관 3층 4·5전시실에서 ‘이건희 컬렉션 특별전 : 영원한 유산’ 전시 개막이후 관람객이 급증하고 있다.
삼성그룹 고(故) 이건희 회장은 2021년 평생 수집한 미술품 1,590점을 국립현대미술관 및 지역미술관에 기증했다.
전례 없던 역사적 기증은 세간의 주목을 받으며, 전국의 국공립미술관을 통해 소개되고 있다.
경남도립미술관은 국립현대미술관 및 대구미술관, 전남도립미술관에 기증된 60점의 이건희 컬렉션으로 ‘영원한 유산’ 전시를 기획했다.
80여 년(1930년대~2010년대)의 한국 근·현대미술사를 대변할 수 있는 거장 40여 명의 한국화, 회화, 조각 등을 선보이는 이번 전시에 경남도민들의 기대와 관심이 집중됐다.
개막 첫날, 개관 시간에 맞춰 200여 명의 도민이 대기 줄을 서는 진풍경이 펼쳐졌으며, 한 달도 채 되기 전에 1만 8천500여 명의 관람객이 다녀갔다.
경남도립미술관은 오전 11시와 오후 3시에 ‘이건희 컬렉션 특별전’만을 위한 도슨트(전시해설사) 설명회를 별도로 운영 중이다.
1회 도슨트를 진행할 때 평일 기준으로 평균 3~40명의 관람객이 설명을 들으며 작품을 감상한다.
미술관 박수영 도슨트는 “관람객들이 박수근, 이중섭, 천경자와 같이 유명 작가의 작품에 관심을 보이지만, 대중에게 알려지지 않은 작가들의 작품에도 많은 관심을 보이며 추가 설명을 요청할 때가 있다”고 전했다.
김종원 경남도립미술관장은 “이번 전시를 통해, 예술에 대한 도민의 관심과 애정을 느낄 수 있었다”며, “앞으로도 도민의 관심과 사랑을 받을 수 있도록, 좋은 전시를 지속적으로 유치할 계획”이라고 밝혔다.
현재 경남도립미술관은 ‘이건희 컬렉션 특별전 : 영원한 유산’ 뿐만 아니라, 경남도립미술관 소장품 기획전 ‘화화?話 : 마주한 서화와 미술’과 2022 경남작가조명전 ‘백순공 : 선(線)의 흔적_Traces of the Mind’ 까지 함께 전시 중이다.
이중 ‘이건희 컬렉션 특별전’은 내년 1월 25일까지, 그 외 전시는 내년 2월 19일까지다.
