앞서 울진군의회는 ‘울진 원자력수소 국가산단 조성 촉구 결의안’을 채택했으며 특히 울진범군민대책위원회 주관으로 15일간 진행된 국가산단 촉구 범군민 서명운동에는 2만 여명이 동참하는 등 전 군민이 나서 국가산단 조성을 촉구하고 있다.
국토부에서 추진하는 신규 국가산단 후보지 지정에 전국 19개 지자체가 신청한 것으로 알려졌으며, 오는 12월 중 선정 발표할 예정이다.
손병복 울진군수는“국가산단 후보지로 선정 되기 위해 총력을다해왔고 끝까지 최선을 다하고 있으니 군민 여러분들도 많은 관심과 응원을 보내 주시기 바란다”고 전했다.
