제2철도교통관제센터, 군자 소나무를 형상화 한다

오는 2027년 충북 청주시 오송에 설치되는 제2철도교통관제센터는 군자 소나무를 형상화해 디자인한 작품으로 지어지게 됐다.

국가철도공단은 30일 제2철도교통관제센터 건축 설계 심사결과 ㈜한국종합건축사사무소(대표사)와 ㈜토마스건축사사무소가 공동 제출한 ‘오송 마에스트로(5-song Maesrto)’ 작품을 최종 선정했다.

이번에 선정된 ‘오송 마에스트로(5-song Maesrto)’은 빠르고(Speed) 안전한(Safety) 철도이용을 위해 스마트한(Smart) 신호제어(Signal)와 이를 보호하는 강인함(Strong)으로 표현했다.

오송의 군자 소나무를 형상화해 디자인한 작품으로 철도의 안전성과 속도감을 표현한 건물의 조형성이 우수하고, 관제동과 숙소동을 두개의 매스로 명확히 분리한 점을 인정 받았다.

특히, 제2철도교통관제센터는 국가중요시설로서 지진과 화재, 테러 등 비상상황에서 정상 가동이 가능한 이중화 설비 시스템 뿐만아니라 EMP(Electromagnetic Pulse, 전자기펄스) 테러에 대비한 이중 차폐 콘크리트 계획과 이중 보안체계 등 방호와 보안의 이중화가 돋보였다는 평가다.

한편, 제2철도교통관제센터는 2006년에 구축된 구로 철도교통관제센터의 노후화 및 용량포화, 지속적인 국가철도망 확장 등에 대비하여 총사업비 3,366억원을 투입된다.
