브레이크뉴스 문홍철 기자= SK그룹이 이웃사랑 성금 120억원을 사회복지공동모금회에 기부했다.
SK는 지난 14일 조경목 SK수펙스추구협의회 SV위원장이 서울 중구 정동에 있는 사회복지공동모금회를 찾아 성금 120억원을 전달했다고 밝혔다.
SK는 1999년부터 매년 이웃사랑 성금을 기부해왔다. 올해로 누적 기부액이 2225억원에 달해 사회복지공동모금회(사랑의열매)의 ‘희망나눔켐페인 2000억원 클럽’에 이름을 올리게 됐다.
조경목 위원장은 “SK 기부가 우리 주변의 어려운 이웃들이 희망과 행복을 찾는데 도움이 되길 바란다”며 “SK는 앞으로도 지속가능한 사회와 이해관계자들의 행복을 추구하는 경영 활동을 지속해 나갈 것이다”고 전했다.
SK는 올해에도 사회문제 해결과 이웃 돕기 활동 등에 앞장서 왔다. SK는 코로나19 장기화로 빚어진 혈액부족 사태 해결을 위해 대한적십자사와 업무협약을 맺고 지난 3월까지 ‘생명나눔 온(溫)택트’ 헌혈 캠페인을 벌여 SK 구성원 및 시민 등 모두 5773명의 참여를 이끌어 냈다. 이 같은 헌혈 참여에 매칭한 기부를 통해 소아암 및 희귀난치성 질환 환자 15명의 치료비를 지원했다.
또한, 코로나19에 따른 결식우려 아동 1023명에게 8개월간 도시락과 반조리식 밀키트 등 급식을 지원했다. 발달장애 청년 자립을 위한 스마트팜 지원사업과 취약계층 청소년을 위한 탄소중립 교육사업도 벌였다.
지난 3월 울진·삼척 산불과 지난 8월 집중호우 당시에는 피해 지원을 위해 각각 성금 20억원씩을 지원하고, 전국 사업장 별로 피해 복구 자원봉사에 적극 나서기도 했다.
