[브레이크뉴스=이성용 기자] 김해시가 내년 1월 서부지역(장유·진영·진례·한림) 주민들에게 보다 나은 공공보건의료 서비스 편의를 제공하기 위한 준비절차에 착수 했다고 21일 밝혔다.
인구 56만명 김해시는 그동안 1개 보건소 체계로 운영해 왔지만, 이번‘과’단위 서부건강지원센터에 건강증진과, 위생과 등 2개과 4팀을 증설해 김해시보건소와 동등한 ‘국’ 개념의 서부보건소를 신설한다.
서부보건소가 신설되면 신종 감염병 대응 등 김해시보건소에서만 총괄 운영했던 동일한 서비스를 제공하는 것은 물론 시민 호응도가 높은 기존 영유아 전문 건강지원센터의 장점은 강하해, 젊은 층이 많은 서부권 인구 구조를 감안해 개소 후에도 지속적인 모니터링 후 의견을 수렴해 나갈 계획이다.
