[브레이크뉴스=이성용 기자] 창원특례시는 28일 마산합포구 신추산아파트상가 4층에서 창원특례시민의 독서와 문화의 공간이자 평생교육의 장이 될 신추산작은도서관 개관식을 개최했다.
이날 행사에는 창원특례시의회 서영권, 홍용채, 이원주, 김영록, 진형익 시의원을 비롯한 지역주민 등 30여명이 참여했으며, 경남재즈오케스트라 단원의 색소폰 연주를 시작으로 개회선언, 인사말씀, 현판제막, 케이크 컷팅 순으로 진행됐다.
신추산작은도서관은 그림책 및 실버 특화 도서관으로 2019년 리모델링한 신추산아파트상가 4층에 조성하였다. 178.36㎡ 규모로 2600여권의 도서가 구비되어 있으며, 전체도서 중 그림책의 비중은 72%다.
작은도서관은 주민과 가장 가까운 곳에서 누구나 편리하게 책을 볼 수 있는 친근한 독서문화공간이자 사람과 사람이 만나 문화와 삶을 만드는 곳으로 지역공동체의 허브 역할을 하고 있다.
추산동은 세계적인 조각가인 문신의 예술혼이 느껴지는 ‘문신미술관’과 ‘창원시립마산박물관’, 골목 곳곳에 예쁜 그림이 가득한 ‘가고파 꼬부랑길 벽화마을’ 등이 있다.
