예술품 감상에 '다빈치 신드롬(syndrome=어떤 것을 좋아하는 현상이 전염병과 같이 전체를 휩쓸게 되는 현상)'이란 게 있습니다. 다빈치, 그의 그림을 보는 순간, 온 몸에서 힘이 빠져나가 그 자리에 풀썩 주저앉는 현상을 말합니다. 감동이 극에 달하는 정도를 의미합니다.

필자는 희망론자입니다. 올해 2023년, '코리아 신드롬'이 더 확산되었으면 합니다.
그런데 새해 초부터 코리아 신드롬(Korea syndrome)’에 대한 낭보(朗報)가 전해졌습니다.
JTBC 방송은 지난 1월2일자 “한국, '세계에서 가장 강력한 국가' 6위 올라” 제목의 기사에서 “군사력과 경제력, 외교력 등을 합산해 평가하는 '세계에서 가장 강력한 국가(the planet's most powerful countries)' 조사에서 한국이 6위에 올랐다”고 소개했습니다.
