Office workers, this year's annual salary increase rate of 7.4%.. what is the reality?

Half of the desired level 4.6%.. Unsatisfied with the result of salary negotiations

Break News Reporter Moon Hong-cheol= Office workers are hoping for an average annual salary increase of 7.4% this year compared to last year, but the actual annual salary increase rate for office workers who have negotiated an annual salary is only 4.6%.

According to Job Korea on the 12th, a survey was conducted on 937 office workers on the “status of employee salary negotiations,” and the annual salary increase rate for this year was an average of 7.4%.

By company size, the average of large companies was 7.5%, the average of medium-sized companies was 7.3%, and the average of small and medium-sized companies was 7.5%.

However, the average salary increase rate of office workers who have completed negotiations is 4.6%, which is 2.8%p lower than the desired level. This is about half of the desired level.

By company size, the annual salary increase rate for large companies was the lowest at 3.8% on average, followed by an average of 4.5% for mid-sized companies and 4.8% for small and medium-sized companies.

Currently, 30.4% of office workers have completed negotiations on salary, or about 3 out of 10 workers. 32.6% of large companies, 31.1% of medium-sized companies, and 29.9% of small and medium-sized companies answered that they had completed negotiations on salary this year, so there was no big difference by company size.

As a result of the annual salary negotiations, 69.5% of the office workers said that there was a “raise” from last year, more than half of them. Next, 29.1% of office workers said they were “frozen,” and only 1.4% said they were “reduced.”

As a result of the annual salary negotiation, many office workers said that the annual salary was increased compared to last year, but the level of satisfaction with the result of the annual salary negotiation was low because it did not reach the desired level. As a result of a survey on whether they were satisfied with the results of this year’s annual salary negotiations, 65.6% of respondents said they were “not satisfied”, more than half. Only 34.4% of office workers said they were “satisfied.”

In fact, there were not a few office workers who decided to change jobs because they were not satisfied with the results of the salary negotiations.

As a result of the survey, 46.3% of office workers who completed salary negotiations responded that they decided to change jobs because they were not satisfied with the results after salary negotiations. These answers were the most common at 54.0% among office workers with 11 to 15 years of experience, followed by △6 to 10 years of experience (46.5%) △5 years of experience (44.2%) △16 or more years of experience (42.3%). .
