오리온과 충청북도, 충북사회복지공동모금회는 17일 충청북도청에서 허인철 오리온 부회장, 김영환 충청북도지사, 노영수 충북사회복지공동모금회장 등 주요 관계자들이 참석한 가운데 후원식을 갖고, 관내 아동복지시설 235개소를 이용하는 어린이 5500여 명에게 제품을 전달했다.
오리온은 2021년 충청북도와 진천테크노폴리스 산업단지 내 물류센터 건립을 위한 투자 협약을 체결한 바 있으며, 지난해에 이어 2년 연속 후원에 나서게 됐다. 향후 충청북도가 식품사업 확장을 위한 거점이 될 수 있도록 투자에 적극 나서는 한편, 지역 경기 활성화에도 이바지할 계획이다.
오리온 관계자는 “충청북도 지역 내 복지시설 아동들이 희망차고 따뜻한 새해를 맞이하는 데 보탬이 되길 바란다”며 “그룹 경영방침인 윤리경영에 기반하여 아동, 청소년, 지역사회를 대상으로 한 정(情) 나눔 활동을 확대해 나갈 것이다”고 말했다.
