[브레이크뉴스=이성용 기자] 김해시는 2024년산 공공비축미로 영호진미와 영진벼 품종을 선정했다고 27일 밝혔다.
시는 지난 26일 농업기술센터에서 행정, 농협RPC, 농업인단체 대표, 농업인 등 관계자 12명이 참석한 가운데 2024년산 공공비축미곡 매입품종 선정 협의회를 개최했다.
협의회는 쌀 품질 경쟁력을 높이고 지역에 적합한 품종을 선정하기 위해 열렸으며, 영호진미와 영진벼 2개 품종을 매입 품종으로 선정했다.
영호진미와 영진벼는 남부지역 평야 1모작지에서 재배되는 중만생종으로 밥맛이 우수하고 병해충에 강해 지역 쌀 품질 경쟁력 제고와 재배 안전성 확보에 이바지할 것으로 기대된다.
시 관계자는 “2024년도 매입품종으로 영호진미와 영진벼가 선정된 만큼 농업인들에게 적극 홍보하는 한편 우량 종자 확보와 보급에 차질이 없도록 적극 노력하겠다”고 말했다.
