브레이크뉴스 문홍철 기자= 현대자동차·기아가 국내 전기차 충전 생태계의 양적·질적 성장을 위해 대규모 주거시설인 아파트를 대상으로 충전 인프라 구축에 나선다.
현대차·기아는 지난 3일 서울 종로구 현대엔지니어링 계동사옥에서 현대엔지니어링, 우리관리와 함께 아파트 전기차 충전 인프라 확산을 위한 3자 MOU를 체결했다고 7일 밝혔다. 체결식에는 정규원 현대자동차 EV인프라전략실장, 최재홍 현대엔지니어링 자산개발영업실장, 김영복 우리관리 사장 등이 참석했다.
현대차·기아는 전기차 초고속 충전 인프라 E-pit(이피트)에 적용된 전기차 충전 서비스 플랫폼(E-CSP)을 이번 3자 협력으로 구축되는 아파트 충전기에도 적용할 방침이다. 이에 따라 기존 E-pit 회원은 별도의 회원가입 없이 아파트에서도 충전이 가능하다.
현대엔지니어링은 건설사의 축적된 시공 및 건물 자산관리 운영 노하우를 아파트 충전소 운영에 접목해 고품질의 안정적 서비스를 제공하기로 했다. 현대엔지니어링은 2022년 하반기 전기차 충전사업을 시작했으며 오는 3월 관련 브랜드 론칭과 더불어 사업을 확장할 예정이다.
공동주택관리업계 1위 사업자인 우리관리는 보유 중인 아파트 관리 네트워크를 활용, 전기차 충전 수요를 파악하고 전력 수용 용량 등 충전 인프라 환경을 고려해 편리하고 신뢰성 높은 전기차 충전 인프라가 구축될 수 있도록 지원한다. 이를 통해 아파트 입주민들의 친환경 수요에 적극 대응할 방침이다.
현대차·기아는 2021년 전기차 초고속 충전 서비스 E-pit를 론칭, 현재 21개소 120기를 운영하고 있다. 현대차·기아는 E-pit의 차별화된 프리미엄 충전 서비스를 더 많은 전기차 고객이 누릴 수 있도록 올 상반기 중 20개소를 구축하고, 2023년 내에 총 58개소 약 300기를 운영할 예정이다.
현대차·기아는 이번 MOU를 시작으로 전기차 충전 서비스 플랫폼을 이용한 협력 파트너쉽을 확장해 나간다는 방침이다. 나아가 아파트 충전 인프라의 확대와 충전 생태계 활성화를 위해 지속적으로 노력한다는 계획이다.
현대차·기아 관계자는 “이번 MOU를 통해 E-pit 플랫폼을 아파트 충전 분야에도 적용할 수 있게 됐다”며 “국내 주거 환경의 특성을 고려해 아파트에서의 전기차 충전 편의성을 크게 향상시킬 것으로 기대한다”고 말했다.
