[브레이크뉴스=이성용 기자] 박완수 경남도지사는 16일 창원 미래웨딩캐슬 그랜드홀에서 개최된 ‘이북5도민 경남연합회 2023년 신년인사회’에 참석해 이북5도민을 격려하고 축하하는 시간을 가졌다.
이번 행사는 경남에 거주하고 있는 43만 실향민의 아픔을 달래고, 이북 5도민의 상호 교류와 화합을 도모하기 위해 마련됐으며, 박완수 도지사를 비롯해 이진규 이북5도위원회 함경남도지사, 최학범 도의회 부의장, 이북5도연합회 지역도민회 임원 등이 참석한 가운데 유공자 표창, 연합회장 이·취임식, 이북5도민 다짐 낭독 순으로 진행됐다.
유공자 시상에서는 이북도민회 화합을 통한 지위 향상과 통일의식 고취에 기여한 공로를 인정받은 회원 4명이 수상의 영예를 안았다.

박 도지사는 축사를 통해 “북한이 핵을 포기하고 평화 번영의 길에 나선다면 우리 민족이 하나가 되고 대한민국이 더욱 번영하는 날이 빨리 오게 될 것”이라며 “경남도는 평화와 통일을 위한 이북5도민 경남연합회의 노력에 대해 적극 지원하겠다”고 말했다.
