[브레이크뉴스=양영석 기자] 의령군 토요애 수박이 지난 7일 첫 출하를 통해 농가 소득 안정화로 이어질 것이며, 이를 위해 지난해보다 한 달 빨리 출하 시기가 앞당겨졌다고 8일 밝혔다.
토요애 유통은 첫 출하를 시작으로 6월까지 의령 대표 농산물인 수박 39만 통(2,500여 톤)을 출하할 예정으로, 낙동강과 남강 언저리의 비옥한 토지와 맑은 수질을 가지고 있는 수박 생산의 적지인 의령에서 생산되는 수박이다. 특히 11Brix 이상의 고당도 수박을 별도 선별해 소비자에게 공급하고 있다.
토요애 유통은 농업인 소득증대를 위해 수탁사업으로 수박을 출하하던 것을 매취사업으로 전환해 출하하고 있으며, 농협물류 및 대형 유통업체에 납품해 안정적인 소득을 올릴 수 있도록 노력하고 있다.
올해 수박 출하 규모는 39만 통(2,500여 톤)으로 전년도 26만 통(1,700여 톤) 대비 1.5배 상향 계획하고 있다.

토요애 유통(주) 오재덕 대표는 “농민이 생산한 농산물을 좋은 가격과 좋은 조건으로 전량 출하할 수 있도록 하겠다”고 밝혔다.
