브레이크뉴스 최애리 기자= 제너시스BBQ 그룹이 지난 7일 시흥푸드뱅크마켓에 BBQ 가정간편식(HMR)을 3000개를 기부했다.
시흥푸드뱅크마켓은 기업 및 개인으로부터 기탁받은 식품 및 생필품을 지역사회의 도움이 필요한 이웃에게 전달해 나눔을 실천하는 사회복지기관이다.
BBQ는 저소득층 이웃의 결식문제에 도움이 되고자 순살치킨강정과 치즈맛 시즈닝 등 약 800만원 상당의 가정간편식을 시흥푸드뱅크마켓에 기부했다.
이날 전달한 제품은 시흥지역 내 결식아동과 독거노인 기초수급자를 비롯해 도움이 필요한 이웃에 전달될 예정이다.
앞서 BBQ는 2021년과 2022년 총 세차례에 걸쳐 푸드뱅크에 자사 제품을 기부했다. 2021년에는 성남, 안산, 광주 푸드뱅크 등 총 17곳에 가정간편식 2500박스를, 2022년에는 하남과 군포를 포함해 푸드뱅크 24곳에 가정간편식 3만 8000세트를 전달했다. 올해 기부를 합쳐 지난 3년간 푸드뱅크에 전달한 제품을 금액으로 환산하면 4억여원에 달한다.
BBQ 관계자는 “어려운 형편으로 식사를 챙기기 어려운 이웃에게 BBQ의 가정간편식이 보탬이 되길 바라는 마음으로 기부를 진행했다”며 “앞으로도 치킨릴레이와 착한기부 외에 다양한 나눔 활동을 펼쳐 어려운 이웃과 함께할 수 있도록 노력하겠다”고 전했다.
