브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 정부가 빠르면 3월 중으로 대중교통에서의 마스크 착용 의무를 해제할 것이란 전망이 나오고 있다.
앞서 정부는 국가감염병위기대응 자문위원회에 대중교통 내 실내마스크 착용의무 해제 방안을 검토해달라고 요청했고, 지난 7일 해당 안건을 중심으로 논의가 이뤄졌다.
뉴시스는 이날 감염병 자문위 관계자는 말을 인용해 "해당 안건에 대해 긍정적인 검토가 이뤄졌다"면서 "크게 반대하는 의견은 많지 않았다"고 회의 당시 분위기를 전했다.
당초 4월 혹은 5월 경 전면 해제가 예상됐으나 전문가 자문위에서도 사실상 반대 의견이 없어 이달 중으로 앞당겨질 가능성이 높아졌다.
질병관리청 중앙방역대책본부도 9일 오전 "실내마스크 착용 의무 조정 1단계 시행 이후 1개월 정도 방역상황을 살펴보고 그간 제기된 민원사항 등을 고려해 대중교통에 대한 의무 해제를 전문가와 검토했다"며 "다음 주 중대본 논의를 거쳐 결과를 발표할 예정"이라고 밝혔다.
한편 정부는 지난 1월 30일 실내 마스크 착용 의무를 권고로 전환했으며 대중교통수단의 실내, 감염취약시설, 의료기관 등 일부 시설만 마스크 착용 의무를 유지시켰다.
만약 대중교통 내 마스크 착용 의무가 해제된다면 의료기관, 약국, 감염취약시설에서만 착용 의무가 남게 된다.
