[브레이크뉴스=이성용 기자] 창원특례시 이종덕 상수도사업소장은 22일 창원시청 프레스센터에서 정례브리핑을 통해 올해 상수도사업소가 진행할 사업 현황과 시민들에게 안정적인 수돗물 공급에 대한 전반적인 상황을 발표했다.
이 소장은 “칠서·대산·북면·석동정수장 수돗물 생산시설 공정에 대해 ISO 22000 국제 인증을 오는 7월까지 취득할 예정이라고 밝히고, ISO 22000은 국제표준화기구(ISO)에서 개발한 식품안전경영시스템(Food Safety Management System, FSMS)으로 식품 제조, 가공, 유통, 보존, 판매단계 등 각 단계에서 발생할 수 있는 위해요소를 효과적으로 관리하기 위해 규정한 국제표준규격”이라고 밝혔다.
안정적인 수돗물을 공급하기 위해 ▲칠서~석동정수장 및 칠서~대산정수장 비상연계 공급망 구축사업 ▲지방상수도 현대화사업을 추진한다. 정수장 간 비상연계 공급망 구축사업은 가뭄이나 사고 등으로 수도를 공급할 수 없는 비상 상황이 발생하면 신속하게 대처하기 위해 정수장 사고 발생 시 타 정수장으로부터 안전한 수질의 수돗물을 대체 공급할 수 있도록 상호공급체계를 구축하는 사업이다.

다음은 칠서·대산·석동정수장 취·정수시설 개선사업을 전면 추진하겠다고 밝혔다. 이번에 추진할 예정인 개선사업으로는 ▲칠서취수장 시설개선 사업 ▲칠서 취·정수장 전기시설 정기검사 및 안전진단 ▲대산정수장 중앙감시 제어시스템 개선사업 ▲석동정수장 활성탄 여과재 교체공사이다.
칠서취수장은 낙동강에서 원수를 취수해 칠서정수장으로 공급하는 중요 시설물로서 창원 도심지역과 마산지역 약 67만 시민들의 수돗물 공급을 책임지고 있다. 1984년 설치된 칠서취수장은 그동안 지속적인 유지보수로 상수도를 공급하고 있으나, 보다 안정적이고 깨끗한 원수를 취수할 수 있도록 시설개선사업을 추진한다.
