남해군, 해담쌀 첫 모내기

브레이크뉴스=정철규 기자] 남해군 농업기술센터는 지난 21일 이동면 무림리 김종칠 씨 농가에서 관내 첫 모내기로 ‘해담쌀’을 심었다.

이날 처음 모내기를 한 곳은 이동면 무림리 일원 2필지 약 0.6ha다.

해담쌀은 남해군에서 2번째로 많이 재배되고 있으며 추석 전 재배가 이뤄지는 최고품질의 조생종이다.

병에 강하고 아밀로스 함량이 높아 밥알이 맛있게 씹히며 고슬고슬한 식감이 특징이다.

정광수 농업기술과장은 “본격적인 못자리 시기를 맞아 농가에서는 벼 키다리병이 생기지 않도록 볍씨 소독과 육묘관리에 특히 신경 써야 한다”고 당부하며 “고품질 쌀 생산을 위해 적기 모내기 지도에 적극 나서겠다”고 밝혔다.

한편 남해군은 농업인의 안정적인 쌀 생산을 위해 벼 육묘용 상토, 소규모농가 벼 상자모지원, 유기질 비료, 토양개량제 등 농자재를 지원 중이다.

적기 모내기와 병해충 수시 예찰 및 항공방제, 돌발병해충방제약제지원 등 철저한 병해충 예찰?방제지원으로 고품질 쌀 생산을 유도한다는 방침이다.
