브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 친이재명계의 핵심으로 꼽히는 정성호 더불어민주당 의원은 13일 싱하이밍 주한 중국대사가 이재명 대표와의 회동자리에서 과격한 발언을 쏟아놓은데 대해 "이재명 대표가 그 자리에서 문제점을 지적했어야 하지 않나하는 아쉬움이 있다"고 밝혔다.
정성호 의원은 이날 MBC라디오 '김종배의 시선집중'에서 "제1야당 대표가 주중대사와 만남에 있어서 좀 더 섬세하게 준비를 했어야 되지 않겠나"라며 이같이 말했다.
그는 "싱 대사는 과거에도 굉장히 과격한 발언들을 많이 했다"면서 "그래서 (이재명 대표 보좌진들이) 그런 걸 염두에 둬야 했고, 이 대표도 문제점들을 그 자리에서 지적했어야 되지 않나 하는 아쉬움이 있다"고 말했다.
이어 그는 "싱하이밍 대사의 베팅 발언은 대사로서 해서는 안 될 부적절한 발언 이었다"며 "주한 중국대사면 양국 수교 국가 사이 우호를 증진시키고 상호 이익을 서로 증진시키는 입장에서 접근했어야 한다"고 비판했다.
그는 정부여당을 겨냥해서도 "한중관계가 굉장히 나쁜 상황인데 나쁘게 된 원인은 여러 원인이 있겠지만, 특히 대만 문제와 관련해 윤석열 대통령의 발언이 과하게 나가지 않았냐"면서 "그 여파로 중국과의 수출, 무역 문제 등 여러가지가 심각한 문제가 많다. 이런 상황에서 민생과 경제를 책임져야 할 여당이 이걸 계기로 한중관계를 악화시키려는 발언을 너무 무책임하게 하는 것 같다"고 비판했다.
한편, 정 의원은 조국 전 법무부 장관의 출마설이 지속 거론되는데 대해선 "어떤 일을 할 수 있고 그건 본인의 자유"라면서도 "지금 조국 장관 재판도 끝난 상황이 아니다. 그런 점들을 고려해 내년 총선 승리를 위해서 어떻게 하는 게 좋은지 많이 고민해주길 바란다"고 전했다.
